Dr. Michael L. Bishop
Dr. Michael L. Bishop is a Tampa based licensed school psychologist and an expert on all areas of school performance improvement including behavior modification and learning disability treatment. Dr. Bishop's interventions are result-oriented. A disbeliever in, "lay on the couch and say what comes to mind" treatment, Dr. Bishop assesses behavior, develops realistic treatment plans, and measures success each step of the way. Dr. Bishop has treated thousands of adolescents and teens in his career and has been interviewed by national and international media outlets as an expert on changing behavior.
Some of Dr. Bishop's career achievements include appearing on national and international media outlets and working with State Senators on various mental health issues. Dr. Bishop was employed as Executive Director of Wellspring Academy and Camps for six years where he assumed a key role in developing a therapeutic boarding school featured on the reality TV show, "Too Fat for 15" which appeared on the Style Network. Under Dr. Bishop's supervision students often made significant behavioral changes. His career experiences include forensic psychology duties as an expert witness for the State of Georgia for Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI) hearings. Dr. Bishop has held leadership positions in community behavioral health organizations and regional hospitals.
